Ceramides

Ceramides are lipids that occur naturally in skin — they make up much of the barrier that keeps moisture in and irritants out. As we age, and under environmental stress like sun and AC, ceramide levels fall, and the barrier weakens: skin becomes drier, more reactive, more easily irritated.
