Description

At a glance: Ready-foamed face wash · all skin types, including sensitive · fragrance-free · 200ml · Japan

A face wash should do one thing well and then get out of the way. This one does.

Kisocare’s Amino Washing Foam cleanses with potassium cocoyl glycinate, a mild surfactant made from coconut fatty acids and the amino acid glycine. It removes the day’s dirt and excess oil without stripping the skin. Around it sits a hydrating formula: a complex of amino acids similar to those in the skin’s natural moisturising factor, four forms of hyaluronic acid, glucosyl trehalose, and Lipidure®, which leaves a light moisture film on the skin. It contains no fragrance, colourants, alcohol, oil, silicones, parabens or sulphates.

It comes out of the pump already foamed, soft and fine, and rinses away cleanly. Skin feels fresh, comfortable and soft afterwards, never squeaky. Japanese customers mention that it doesn’t sting even on days when their skin feels sensitive.

Our note: The brand makes a great deal of its electrolysed water. We’re more interested in the parts we can name: a properly gentle amino acid cleanser, with enough hydration to make “mild” mean something. It is a face wash, not a makeup remover, so take off sunscreen and makeup first.

A first face wash that does no harm

If you’re just starting to look after your skin, this is a good place to begin. It’s fragrance-free and alcohol-free, and it cleans without leaving your face tight. Two or three pumps, a gentle massage, lukewarm water. That’s it. If you wear sunscreen to school, wash it off properly at night with a cleansing oil first, then use this.

FAQ

What is Kisocare Amino Washing Foam?

It is a Japanese facial cleanser that comes out of the pump as ready-made foam. It cleanses with potassium cocoyl glycinate, a mild amino acid-based surfactant, and adds amino acids, four forms of hyaluronic acid and Lipidure® for a soft, comfortable finish.

What is an amino acid cleanser?

It is a cleanser that uses surfactants made from amino acids, such as glycine, instead of soap or sulphates. These are generally milder, so skin is less likely to feel tight or dry after washing.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

It is fragrance-free, alcohol-free and free of sulphates, parabens and silicones, which makes it a gentle choice for sensitive skin. As with any new product, patch-test first if your skin is very reactive.

Is it suitable for teenagers?

Yes. It is fragrance-free and alcohol-free, and gentle enough for daily use on young skin.

Does it remove makeup and sunscreen?

No. It is a face wash. Remove makeup and water-resistant sunscreen first with a cleansing oil or balm.

What is Lipidure®?

It is the trade name for polyquaternium-51, an ingredient that holds moisture and leaves a light, protective moisture film on the skin.

How many pumps should I use?

Two to three pumps, enough to cover the whole face in foam.

How long does a 200ml bottle last?

About a month with morning and evening use, according to the brand. Use within three months of opening.

Where is it made?

Japan.
