Pelican Soap Koisuru Oshiri Hip Care Soap
80g
A peach-shaped scrub bar for the parts of the body that moisturiser alone never fixes.
Pelican launched this in 2016 with a premise most brands would have talked themselves out of: that the skin on your backside deserves the same attention as your face, and that nobody was making anything for it.
Ten million units later across the series, the premise looks reasonably sound.
The skin there spends most of the day compressed against a chair, under elastic, with no air circulation. Dead skin builds up, texture goes rough and bumpy, and body lotion does very little about it because lotion does not exfoliate. This bar does, with peach kernel and konjac scrub particles alongside fruit acids and fermented honey, then puts moisture back with a run of fruit and leaf extracts.
It also works beautifully on upper arms, elbows, knees and thighs, which is how most people end up using it.
Why You’ll Love It
- Two kinds of scrub. Peach kernel powder for grip and softer konjac mannan beads, so it polishes rather than scours.
- Fruit acids and fermented rose honey. Malic, lactic and citric acid with a gluconobacter honey ferment, all working to soften the dead skin before the scrub lifts it.
- Moisture built in. Peach leaf and seed, loquat leaf, kiwi, artichoke leaf and aloe vera, so skin is not left stripped.
- The groove on the back. Shaped to be used like a gua sha tool for massaging from the hip down the thigh.
- Fresh peach scent. Bright and juicy rather than sweet or synthetic.
- A genuinely good-looking object. It is a peach. It sits in a bathroom without apology.
- Award-winning. Grand Prix at the Girls Happy Style Best Smile Awards 2025, and featured in Newsweek International in December 2025.
Why Skin There Goes Rough
Pressure, friction and no airflow. Long hours sitting, elastic from underwear, synthetic fabric in a hot climate, and the skin responds the way skin always responds to friction, by thickening.
That buildup is what makes the surface feel rough and look uneven, and it is also why moisturiser disappoints: you are applying it on top of the layer that is causing the problem.
Clearing it first is what changes the texture. Then the moisture has somewhere to go.
How to Use It, and Where Else
Pelican’s own instruction is to rub the bar directly against the skin in small circles, rather than lathering it in your hands first. That puts the scrub particles exactly where you want them. You can lather it instead if you prefer a gentler pass.
The indent on the back of the bar is deliberate. Use it like a massage tool, working from the hip down the back of the thigh.
Most people who buy this end up using it well beyond the original brief. Upper arms, where skin goes bumpy. Elbows and knees. The backs of the thighs. One long-term user on Pelican’s own site reports using it over the whole body with a foam net.
