The brush is not damaged by water. If it gets wet, shake off any droplets, wipe it down, and allow it to dry naturally in a shaded, well-ventilated place.

If styling products or cosmetics build up on the pins, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water and wrung out well.

Do not hold a hairdryer's hot air on the brush for extended periods — this can distort the pins.

Do not use on pets. This is designed for human hair.

Do not use on wigs, extensions, or over hair implants.

Keep out of reach of children.

Start at the ends. Brush gently through the last few inches until the hair moves freely, then work progressively higher. Releasing tangles from the bottom up prevents you from pushing several knots into one.

Once the length runs clear, place the brush at the crown and draw it back in one continuous stroke, letting the curved head follow the shape of your skull. This is the stroke the brush was designed for — the wide face and long pins catch the underlayers and the back of the head that shorter brushes miss.

Repeat in unhurried passes. The shine builds through repetition, not pressure.

With hair oil: apply the oil first, then brush. The pins distribute it evenly through the length and detangling becomes easier.

For styling: use the wide face to gather hair at the back of the head before securing a ponytail or updo. It collects strays that fingers leave behind.

While blow-drying: you can, but avoid holding hot air on the brush continuously — sustained heat can distort the pins.

On the scalp: the rounded tips are comfortable for gentle scalp brushing. Light pressure is enough.

What is the difference between the ReFa Aile Brush and the ReFa Heart Brush?

Both use the same three-tier pin structure, but they are built for different situations. The Aile Brush is a full-size handled brush with a wide face and long pins, designed to brush an entire head in one stroke and to help with styling. The Heart Brush is compact and handheld, designed for detangling on the move. The Aile Brush is also water-safe, while the Heart Brush is not.

Can the ReFa Aile Brush be used in the shower?

Yes. The brush is not damaged by water, though ReFa designed it primarily for dry hair and recommend using it on dry hair for best results. If it gets wet, shake off the water, wipe it dry, and let it air-dry in a shaded, well-ventilated spot. For brushing during shampooing, ReFa recommend the ION CARE BRUSH.

Does the ReFa Aile Brush reduce static?

Yes. The brush is made with an anti-static agent to reduce static during brushing.

Is the Aile Brush good for long or thick hair?

Yes, this is what it was designed for. The long pins hold heavy or voluminous hair through the full stroke, and the wide face covers a large section at once, so fewer passes are needed.

Can you use it on permed or chemically treated hair?

Yes. Brush gently and gradually rather than forcing through tangles, working from the ends upward.

Can it be used on wigs, extensions, or hair implants?

No. The pins may catch and pull the hair out. ReFa advise against use on wigs and extensions, and for anyone with hair implants or partial hairpieces.

Are the brush pins replaceable?

No. If the pins spread or deform after long use, the brush should be replaced.

Does the Aile Brush come with a cover?

No. It ships with an instruction manual only. The compact Heart Brush is the one with a protective travel cover.
